SUNSHINE MATH IS BACK (grades 2 and 3)

image.pngDear Parents,
Second and Third grade Sunshine Math will begin on Monday, September 22nd.  Students who choose to participate will complete their challenge before Winter Break.  The schedule is posted below.

For those of you who are not familiar with the program, Sunshine Math is a voluntary Schoolwide Enrichment Program available to any students who want to try the problems each week.  It is a 10 week program designed to complement the regular math curriculum that we have at Three Bridges School.  Sunshine Math problems are meant to be challenging and engaging.  Participating students complete the challenges at home each week and return their papers to the Sunshine Math envelope in their classroom.  I will distribute challenges to participating students each week.  Participating students are expected to complete all ten weeks, and will be recognized with an award for their efforts!

The process for participating in Sunshine Math is simple.  If your child wants to participate, have them complete week 1 by Friday, September 26th   Your child’s completed challenge sheet is their registration for Sunshine Math.  For the next 9 weeks, they will get a weekly math challenge page, following the schedule.

Thank you for allowing your child to embark on this mathematical adventure.  Please feel free to email me with any questions regarding Sunshine Math.  I can be reached at jnabozny@readington.k12.nj.us

Book Fair & Block Party Thank Yous:
TBS is feeling very thankful for such a wonderful time last week! The kids spent the week shopping at our Book Fair, learning how to stay on budget and find some good reads. We are very appreciative of all our parent volunteers and, most importantly, our chairs: Kaitlynn Kurtzo, Brittany Canning & Evelyn Rodriguez!

We ended the week with the much anticipated Fall Block Party! We had a record-setting attendance and it would not have been possible without our amazing chairs: Tim Kozicki & Dr. Higgins! We are extremely appreciative of the contributions from several local businesses & love the support they show our children. Thank you to Jalynn Production face painting, Lavish Beauty Aesthetics, DJ Bounce, Al Fresco’s, Rita’s Flemington, Lowe’s Flemington & Randazzo’s!

What a great way to start off the school year! We can’t wait for all the fun in store for our Tip Top Tigers this year 🐯

Yearbook:
Our new school year is in full swing and so is the yearbook planning. We would like to kick off our yearbook cover contest for the 25/26 book. This year’s theme is “A Tiger’s Tale”. Any way your student interprets this theme (or if they want to go their own way) will be very helpful to make this year’s book a success. Crayon, marker, pencil, paint or anything your child can imagine can be used. Entries should be 8.5x11 portrait orientation to fit the cover format. Please submit art to the HSA mailbox in the main office by Friday, October 17th. Please share any back to school photos for the yearbook: https://photos.jostens.com/6ZZNNW

NEW! Dear Three Bridges School Families,
This email is to notify you that Three Bridges School held a security
drill today, 9/10/2025. This was just a drill and there was no danger or emergency. Your child’s safety and well-being are a top priority at all times.
School safety
drills are mandated by the NJ Department of Education Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning. Our security drills are conducted with proper protocols and procures and with prior consultation and with local, county, and state emergency personnel. State law, P.L. 2021, c.365, requires school districts to notify students, staff, and parents when a school security drill is conducted during the school day. Additionally, students and staff are notified at the conclusion of the drill that it was just a drill and that no danger exists.
We want to thank the students and staff for conducting this
drill. At the conclusion of the drill, the students and staff were complimented for doing their part by being attentive and appropriately participating in this exercise.

Sincerely,
Kristen Higgins,
Ed.D.
Principal, Three Bridges School
